Dr. Rose
Detmer Stone and Dr. Angela Ebeler are both graduates of Pacific University
College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. As optometrists, the doctors are
trained vision specialists. The four-year graduate curriculum consists of
extensive optics courses, studying intricate workings of the visual system,
neurology, physiology and ocular anatomy courses, and general systemic
pharmacology and disease courses. Optometrists are trained to diagnose and
treat ocular diseases and infections, including glaucoma. Optometrists are not
trained to do surgeries.
Dr. Detmer Stone and Dr. Ebeler practice behavioral or
developmental optometry. Behavioral optometrists are dedicated to preventing or
eliminating visual problems and enhancing visual performance. We believe the
vision system is active, dynamic, and evolving; therefore, vision can be
learned with training.
